HOW DO I PAINT MY WALLS?
Preparation is the essential key to superior looking, long lasting results.
A properly prepared wall should be clean, dry and solid i.e. without any cracks or imperfections.
• New plaster must be thoroughly dry before painting.
• Remove any surface salts with a brush or dry cloth.
• Prime bare plaster with 1 part water to 5 parts paint.
• Paint walls with Fleetwood Vinyl Matt, Vinyl Silk or Soft Washable Sheen.
• Wash off dirt and grease with warm soapy water.
• Remove loose paint or any powdery substances.
• Fill holes/cracks with Fleetwood Filler
• For glossy surfaces lightly sand walls to provide key for adhesion before starting painting.
• Treat new rendering which has not been painted before with Fleetwood Masonry Primer.
• On previously painted surfaces in sound condition no primer is necessary, apply two coats of Fleetwood Weatherclad Masonry Paint in the colour of your choice.
Fleetwood Weatherclad is specially formulated to withstand weathering and inhibit mould growth.
If properly applied Weatherclad will last up to 18 years.
